The Rope Ladder Soil Stabilizer

The soil at Camp Murphy is sandy and very sensitive to erosion. The Mulch-A-Matic process works for trail sections which are relatively level. However, other methods must be used on unstable sandy slopes. One very effective technique is to bury a rope ladder with wooden slates into the hill side. The ladder is suspended from the hilltop with a couple of  buried 2'x 4"x 4" posts. The wooden slats of the ladder keep the sand from migrating downhill.
