Big
Turnout For Sandbuster Event:
Sunday, April 14, 2001
We had a great turnout for the Sandbuster Event. Over 20 Volunteers
showed up with shovels, rakes and wheelbarrows. Everybody worked
their hearts out for six hours. Tons of park approved shell rock was
spread over the west side of the loop. Mulch was spread over needed
areas on the east side.

Bridges Moved:
Volunteers began moving the bridges rescued from the Kmart trail and
stored at Camp Murphy. New locations were found for about half of the
bridge material. The bridges are on the ground for now, but we'll soon
have them built up to their proper elevation. |

|

John Johnson volunteered his Bobcat, dump truck and time
to help move the bridges.
John also donated a load of mulch! |

Feeding
the Troops:
Trail work was followed by a Bar-B-Q at the park pavillion. Thanks to
all the volunteers who brought food. It was great! Thanks to Chef Jerry
for slaving over the grill. |
|

The food was so good, it brought Jerry to tears. |
